On December 16, 2025, a new presidential proclamation significantly expands the U.S. travel ban, updating the list of countries subject to full and partial entry restrictions effective January 1, 2026.
The travel ban applies to foreign nationals who are outside the United States without a valid visa on the effective date and includes revised restrictions that build on earlier proclamations.
