State Department announces Collaboration with Welcome.US

The State Department is partnering with Welcome.US, a non-profit, non-partisan initiative of Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors (RPA), to encourage continued support from private and public sectors alike. On September 3rd, the State Department issued a call to action to companies and organizations that wish to aid Afghans in beginning their new life in the United States.

Welcome.US launched on September 14th. It is supported by Barack and Michelle Obama, George and Laura Bush, and Bill and Hillary Clinton. Welcome.US collaborates with more than 250 NGOs, businesses and leaders of diverse faiths, politics and backgrounds. The goal of Welcome.US and its collaborators is to encourage and organize the support from Americans from all walks of life to support Afghan families fleeing to the US.

The State Department applauds the launch of Welcome.US and expects ongoing collaboration with leaders across sectors to mobilize support for arriving Afghans. For more information on this initiative, please visit welcome.us.
