Biden’s Plan to Implement Humane and Efficient Pathways to Safety

Last week, the Secretary of State Antony Blinken and the Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas announced that the Biden Administration will strengthen efforts to offer safer and more stable pathways to safety for refugees. However, the proposed regulation will hinder access to protection for many seeking asylums at the U.S. southern border.

The American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) President Jeremy McKInney applauds the Biden Administration’s effort to “expand legal pathways and screen migrants for humanitarian protection and other forms of relief.”
