DHS issues statement regarding Hurricane Michael
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security issued a statement encouraging persons impacted by Hurricane Michael to contact rescue personnel if personal safety is compromised, regardless of immigration status. The statement indicates that “there will be no immigration enforcement initiatives associated with evacuations or sheltering related to Michael, except in the event of a serious public safety threat.”
