Updates on Reports of Delayed Delivery of Certain Certified PERM Applications
October 25th, 2017
The American Immigration Lawyers Association(AILA) confirmed with Department of Labor (DOL) that the issue with PERM mail delivery delays has been reviewed and resolved. For PERM cases certified on or after October 24, 2017, the certified ETA Form 9089 should be delivered within standard mail delivery timelines. There may be delays in the delivery of cases that were certified prior to October 24, 2017.
Reports of the delays(AILA Doc. No. 17101104):
AILA’s DOL Liaison Committee has received reports in the last several days that some AILA members are experiencing delays in the time it takes to receive a certified PERM after receipt of the certification email from the DOL. Some members have reported delays of up to three weeks post certification, while other members report no ascertainable delays. As members report that the certified PERM is ultimately being delivered, the DOL Liaison Committee is continuing to monitor the situation. Members who are experiencing delays should email the DOL Helpdesk at: plc.atlanta@dol.gov. Members who have not received the original PERM certification a month following the certification email from DOL should let the DOL Committee know through the “Report a Trend” form on the committee’s webpage. When reporting such cases to the committee, be sure to include the case number and date the certification email was received.
