New Handbook for Employers

United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) recently posted an updated handbook for employers. The handbook also includes guidance on how to complete Form I-9. The full text can be found here.

What is included?

The book first details why employers must verify employee identity, and the Homeland Security Act. Much of the guide gives detailed instructions on how to complete Form I-9, including how to photocopy and retain the document. Part four discusses unlawful discrimination, and part five discusses instructions for recruiters. The guide also includes details on E-Verify, and a frequently asked questions section. Lastly, it details acceptable documents to establish identity and employment authorization.
