First-time Third-country H-1B Applicants May Now Apply in Vancouver

The Department of State and The U.S. Consulate General in Vancouver, Canada has confirmed that it will now accept applications filed by third-country foreign nationals apply for their first H-1B visa. This applies even if the application is based on a university degree outside the U.S. or Canada. These applicants were previously discouraged from applying through this post.

Applicants should monitor the appointment system regularly to obtain a date and time that works for them. Further, appointments are limited and usually booked several months in advance.
